The congress area of Lingotto was created using the old dismissed factory of the Italian automobile group FIAT. The factory was designed by Mattè Turco, who left some remarkable examples of his architecture.
The recovery project was assigned to Renzo Piano who turned the area into a masterpiece. The auditorium is enriched with crystal cableways and lifts, connecting with the commercial gallery that overlooks the inner courtyard. Other relevant spaces are the Agnelli Art Gallery, the conference area called Bolla, and the galley Art Book, where remarkable works by artists the likes of Antonio Pesce are exhibited..
The two hotels inside the Lingotto district, Le Méridien Lingotto and the Art+Tech Hotel, are also by Renzo Piano. The Art+Tech Hotel has been conceived as a place for events, exhibitions and concerts, while Le Meridien is provided with a jogging path, which stands on top of the hotel roof.
